Il MuMaF - Museo della Marineria e dei Fari è un percorso di ricerca, un laboratorio di costruzione della memoria del paesaggio marittimo, un allestimento che mira a raccontare l’identità della frazione di Torre Canne.

Le luci di ausilio alla navigazione, quelle dei fari e dei fanali, guideranno il visitatore alla conoscenza della storia tecnica dei fari, dei loro guardiani e di una parte della marineria pugliese attraverso la messa in mostra di una raccolta di oggetti legati al mondo dei fari e del mare, la proiezione di video inerenti il paesaggio costiero e le testimonianze di faristi e pescatori.

Il progetto è realizzato dal C.R.E.ST.A.- Centro Ricerche Etnografiche, Storiche, Antropologiche con il supporto dell’Associazione “Al Faro” di Torre Canne, del Comune di Fasano, della HD Library di Brindisi e il patrocinio della Cattedra Unesco dell’Università degli Studi della Basilicata.

LOCATION

The Torre Canne Maritime and Lighthouse Museum is located inside the lighthouse, recently restored by the municipality of Fasano.

It is a high-altitude lighthouse activated in 1929, the typology of the lighthouse is high-block, the supporting structure is of brickwork, the cladding is white plaster with a simple decorative apparatus of local ochre-yellow stone material that distinguishes the plinth and the frame that delimits the flat roof and the openings.
